Care for women’s health, pregnancy and reproductive wellbeing.

The Obstetrics & Gynaecology service supports women through reproductive health concerns, antenatal care, pregnancy monitoring, delivery planning, postnatal care and gynaecological assessment.

Obstetrics

Antenatal registration, pregnancy monitoring, risk assessment, birth planning, delivery support, postnatal review and referral for high-risk pregnancy where appropriate.

Gynaecology

Assessment for menstrual problems, pelvic pain, infections, fibroids, fertility concerns, menopause-related symptoms and women’s health screening, subject to available specialist capacity.

Maternal safety

Pregnant women should seek urgent care for bleeding, severe abdominal pain, severe headache, swelling, reduced fetal movement, convulsions, fever, waters breaking early or labour concerns.

Care pathway

The service should coordinate with maternity, diagnostics, theatre, pharmacy, newborn care and referral services to support safe care.

Privacy and dignity

Women should be treated with respect, confidentiality, consent and culturally sensitive communication.
