Safe care requires systems, not slogans.

Clinical governance is the system by which LifeCome Hospitals should maintain and improve the quality, safety and accountability of clinical services.

Committee structure

Recommended committees include Medical Advisory Committee, Quality & Patient Safety Committee, Infection Prevention & Control Committee, Medicines & Therapeutics Committee, Mortality & Morbidity Review Committee and Ethics & Complaints Committee.

Clinical standards

Clinical services should operate through approved protocols, credentialed staff, documented responsibilities, regular audit and escalation procedures.

Patient involvement

Feedback, complaints, patient experience surveys and incident learning should feed into service improvement.

Reporting

Hospital leadership should review quality indicators, safety events, complaints, infection control, clinical audit results and improvement actions regularly.
